To begin with, I can't find any information on the authors credibility. I bought the kindle version for $3.00 and I still feel robbed. The book has no value since there isn't a credible source. It appears as if Samual Blankson is a fictious author that just gathered information from the Internet or some other book and is attempting to make money by selling this lame book. The book has DOZENS of typos. This author has several books that are published by Lulu.com which appears to be a small private publisher. I recommend using the $3 and purchasing a book from a more credible source.

I am completely disappointed that this book is even for sale on Amazon. I expected a book that was written by a tax historian. This looks more like the "author" went through a tax history book and published their cryptic notes. The book is inundated with obvious errors and it is apparent that it wasn't proofread. Total, complete waste of money.

When the author says 'brief' he means 'brief'. The history of taxation of Egypt is one page!!! China is 2 and 1/2 pages. Brief it is and completely lacking in any knowledge that would be helpful to anyone interested in the history of taxation. The book itself is slim with appendices comprising about 34 of the 137 pages - the appendices are only reproducing the Charter of the Massachusetts Bay and the Declaration of Independence. Sorry I purchased it with any hope of learning

I got this book as an add on item when I wanted free shipping. It was either pay 6 bucks for shipping or get this book and get free shipping. The book is not all that exciting. I mean, even for taxes. It would be useful for a high school or community college class. Very minimal. VERY.
