Holy cow what a story. If you grew up in Brooklyn in the '80's or if you didn't live under a rock, you will know every player in this book. Mob rule was martial rule and the author provides a first hand account right from the thick of it. This is one incredible story but do not start this book unless you have 48 or more hours straight to spare because you will absolutely NOT be able to put it down. It's an incredibly exciting read and you will not care that the author is not an author by trade. A truly amazing story that makes you feel like you were the one wearing the wire at the table with the bad guys.

The book was not what I originally expected and wanted. For me this book turned out to be a true crime drama. The pages turned and it captivated me at times. My original interest was in hearing about Gotti and Chuck Zito and Howard Stern and drama about the girls and the fights and the rowdy customers. About behind the scenes prostitution and the lives of some of the girls. Actually, there WAS a reasonable amount of that. I wanted even more. But instead a fair amount of the book was about the law enforcement angle, the investigations, and the trials. And that stuff was really well presented. So I am more than satisfied with this book and recommend it.

Amazing book. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I've read plenty of mafia related books and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. It jumps right into the dark side of his club Scores starting on page one as you follow the author's journey through the twists and turns, ups and downs, and struggles of running this wildly successful strip club while at the same time, having to deal with the Gambino crime family who forces their way on board as a secret business partner. The author not only gives incredible insight into the day to day operations of running the club, but also the incredibly hard task of simply getting the license to open the club which was the first of its kind to operate in New York City, to all the top shelf celebrity guests who frequented the club on a regular basis from Howard Stern to Leonardo DiCaprio and many more from the world of entertainment and sports. You'll see how the author seemed on top of the world at one time, and then found himself putting his life on the line for the FBI with the promise of freedom on the other side. But wound up being double crossed by the system he trusted. The book is a wild ride as told first hand by the author who personally experienced it all.

Most extraordinary read of my life. Blutrich's ability to transcend readers in his experience is remarkable, evoking feelings of all spectrums. His story makes him a legend, surviving unimaginable situations and not letting the cards chosen and dealt defeat him. A definite read for all audiences.

I was never a big Howard Stern fan, and never visited Scores, but I found this book mesmerizing. I couldn't put it down. The writing is compelling and the plot is totally engaging. You feel like you're getting a real behind-the-scenes view of the workings of the Mafia, as well as the FBI in dealing with them. Blutrich comes across as a compelling and complex character, with a sense of humor and perspective about his increasingly complicated situation. Finally, there is something quintessentially "New York" about this book, which will make it of interest to fans of other crime writers, like Lawrence Block. Highly recommended!!

Wow.... This book is crazy. Wondering if most businesses in NY have to pay the Mafia? Seems like he wasn't such a bad guy, but damn he messed around with some pretty bad guys and got screwed. Not killed as he could have been but screwed nonetheless.

Scores, the men's club made famous by Howard Stern and celebrities in the 90s. But what's the real story behind the venue. This is the book. BUT, it starts slow for the first 17% jumping around without great cohesion. Then it tells the Scores story by half the book. The real story here is the FBI investigation that leads him to wearing a wire and busting major Mafia members. Stunning and fascinating like the movie Goodfellas. But, there is one more trial for the owner and this legal maneuver will not end so well.Personally I would have preferred more of Scores. But this is more a Mafia book which was slightly tedious. Don't get me wrong. I read and recommend. But know what you are buying.

I was prepared to dislike the author. I did not. A thrilling story. Also a warning....do not break the law...do not get involved with either side both the good and or the bad. This is one cautionary story.. I wish the author well. He deserves some good time.
