I purchased this book because I teach mechanical design, and I'm always on the lookout for older texts that show mechanisms in detail. First, I should note that there was very little detail in the original text. Second, the reproduction of that text here is atrocious. The images are extremely poor, the kind of thing you see when your toner cartridge is almost empty. Even worse, when the original text was scanned, the extreme left margin was truncated on many, if not most, of the pages, so you don't even see the entire image.Save your money, and don't buy this one. If you're into this sort of thing, Henry Brown's "507 Mechanical Movements" is a much better reproduction (typical of Dover Press) and quite similar to this.

Extremely poor print reproduction, hard to see details in the illustrations. Since the text descriptions are very brief, this makes many entries difficult to understand.

Print and paper quality is poor.
